Parents who have recently moved to the Lakeport area may wish to find out more about the schools and education facilities in the area whether your children need a pre school, elementary, middle or high school. The Lake County Office of Education is located in the city itself and will be able to provide you with a comprehensive guide to all the schools you may wish to consider so you can be sure to find the best options to suit your family’s educational requirements.
There are six main schools in the area starting with the Terrace Middle School in Lange Street which meets the educational needs of 4th, 5th & 6th grade age groups in self-contained classrooms that make the ideal learning center to fulfill all your child’s requirements. Their staff pride themselves on finding the best ways to meet students’ needs in both social and academic fields and as a result the school has developed a collaborative program to this effect. This has successfully demonstrated excellent educational and technology standards combined with character building instruction and guidance that has been of huge benefit to students across the board. The school’s academic records for API, CST, and STAR scores are excellent overall while their 7th and 8th graders have consistently had the highest CST math scores for the whole of Lake County in recent years too.
If you have children who are due to enter 7th grade in the Fall, then please note that your chosen school will need proof of an adolescent whooping cough booster shot before they can be enrolled in classes. Parents should provide a copy of the immunization certificate before the summer break and this will ensure that your child is included as a priority in the scheduling procedure for the year ahead. However if you have younger children, who are taking their primary steps in the educational system, then you Lakeport Elementary School provides an ideal environment where children can be nurtured during their informative years. The excellent teaching staff provide a friendly atmosphere where they dedicate themselves to your child’s education as well as emphasizing the importance of student achievement and behavior for later years.
Lakeport also has two high schools for older students which include the Clear Lake High school that is situated close to the shores of Clear Lake and is one of the oldest and most established education facility of its kind in the area. At this facility, 30 dedicated teaching staff are responsible for over 500 students and this school offers a varied and comprehensive curriculum for this particular age group. Alternatively you may prefer to enroll your child in the Natural High School which is part of the Lakeport Alternative Educational Centre and if your child needs any extra schooling is has some special educational needs that require a less generic approach then there are several programs run here that may be of interest to you. These include a structured, K-12 home schooling program, an alternative educational program for at-risk students in grades 6-10 as well as one for older students between the ages of 16 and 18.
